Upgrading RAM on an Hp 6130?
I have a:
Hp 6130
Athlon 64bit 3200 Processor
512mb DDR ram
80 Gig. Hard Drive
Built in Wifi
DVDRW/CDRW
I was looking at something like a:
Kingston ValueRAM 4GB PC2-5300 DDR2 DIMM Dual Channel Memory Kit. ($38.98) @ http://stores.tomshardware.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=23165467/st=product/sv=title although I wasn't sure if this item would be compatible??
I'm not much of a gamer but I do alot of streaming and have several windows or tabs open at a time. I guess the main question would be: what's going to be the best fit - and best value - for my system (and should I consider upgrading the processor)? Thanks for your help!!
You will need to find the correct ram. There are a few options to find the correct ram to insert into your computer. The best website I would recommend would be crucial.com, they have great ram upgrade options. If you not a gamer, but do multi task, it would be best to have a minimal of 1gb of ram installed, 2gb would be best, and ram is cheap these days. As for the processor, depending on your limitations of your motherboard, I would upgrade to a dual-core processor from AMD. You will most likely need to also upgrade your motherboard.
