Replacing Windows with Ubuntu on a Notebook Computer?
I was thinking of getting a Notebook computer for when I'm not at home. But the lower price range ones often come with limited versions of Windows. So I was thinking of putting Ubuntu on it. But before I go and do that, is there anything I should know?
And how do I replace Windows with Ubuntu?
If you don't want to lose the power of Windows, consider keeping XP or whatever OS comes with it, and install Linux via the program named Wubi. It'll let you install Ubuntu like a program in Windows, but you choose which OS to boot when you start your computer up. I use it on my desktop and laptop, and it's pretty darn cool. (I'm using it to type this!)
