Can I use a notebook wireless broadband card with a desk top PC with some sort of adapter?
I am in a dead zone for cable, dsl, or Clearwire. I get full signal strength on my Cingular phone insinde my home. I'd like to see about getting a wireless broadband card from Cingular and use it as my primary internet connection instead of dial up. I don't have a notebook so I would like to use it for my desktop PC. Is this possible?
Yes you can.
Laptop cards are typically referred to as PCMCIA cards or, more recently, PC cards. There are many adapters available to add a PC card slot to your desktop. You will have to chose between a PCI adapter (fits inside your desktop) or a USB adapter (plugs into the USB port of your desktop) I have included a link for a USB adapter.
