Why does my cursor keep jumping all over? Typing is a nightmare and it resets itself anywhere.....?
making emails and any text 3 times longer due to the number of corrections and backspacing I have to attempt. Even whilst writing this I have had 3 lots highlighted and erased (not by me) and had to bring cursor back to end of line after it had "jumped" again !!! Someone said put a piece of wood underneath but I use desk or dining table rarely my knee. (make that 4 times it has jumped now) Other laptop ok it is driving us mad. This equipment is 4 months old. Any advice - other than pour strong coffee onto keyboard !! (make that 5 jumps) and no it is NOT my typing methods! 
There is a known issue with the cursor in VISTA. SP1 fixed the issue.
The pointer for a high performance mouse does not move correctly in Windows Vista
