What do you do in your 'writer's notebooks/journals'?
What works, what doesn't? What do you find helpful and what don't you? What do you enjoy doing in your journals? What exercises do you do in them?
I keep one around both at home and when I am traveling to jot down any good ideas that come to me so that I don't forget them. (I write guitar songs, and to a much lesser extent, plays). The simple verse I wrote down recalls to me what I was thinking about at the time, and I can then 'flesh-out' the idea later when I have more time.
I really don't do any exercises per se in them. They are just an idea storage medium for me.
